WABASH COUNTY, Ind. -- A Kokomo man was killed in an officer-involved shooting in Wabash County Wednesday afternoon.

Indiana State Police say Wabash County Sheriff's Department deputies were checking on a possible burglary suspect on Wabash County Road 400 around 4:20 p.m. when they found a man inside a pickup truck in a field.

Investigators say that 29-year-old Travis D. Tucker was armed with a shotgun. It is unclear what happened after deputies responded but state police say three Wabash County Sheriff's deputies and an officer with the Huntington County Sheriff's Department are believed to have fired shots at the man, fatally striking him.

No officers were injured in the incident.

The shooting remains under investigation by Indiana State Police.
