INDIANAPOLIS — Even though St. Patrick’s Day is Sunday, people have already started celebrating across Central Indiana.

Indianapolis Emergency Medical Services says they tend to see get more emergency calls due to too much alcohol consumption on holidays, but it’s been quite so far on Saturday.

Here are some of the signs and symptoms of alcohol poisoning Mayo Clinic says to look for:

  • Confusion
  • Vomiting
  • Seizures
  • Slow breathing

One does need to have all or any of the signs and symptoms to have alcohol poisoning, according to Mayo Clinic.

If you think someone has alcohol poisoning, Mayo Clinic says you should do the following things:

  • Call 911
  • Be prepared to provide information to emergency dispatchers
  • If a person is unconscious, do not leave them alone
  • Help a person who is vomiting but helping them sit up or tilt their head to the side.
