INDIANAPOLIS -- Seymour native John Mellencamp got his first taste of success 35 years ago.
His album, American Fool, shot up the charts with the hit singles "Hurts So Good" and "Jack & Diane."
Channel 6 reporter Greg Todd visited Mellencamp at his home on Lake Monroe near Bloomington, where Mellencamp discussed family, life in southern Indiana and even the origin of the name "Johnny Cougar."
"It keeps you real here," Mellencamp said of living in southern Indiana.
