INDIANAPOLIS, Ind -- Wood, wood and more wood. That was the material of choice for the centerpiece home at the 1983 Indianapolis Home Show.
The home was dubbed the most energy efficient in the history of the show.
Designed by Bradley Lewis, the home featured wood from the foundation to the ceiling with six-inch thick walls. Its layout utilized more space for living areas and less space for hallways. On paper, the home was 2,400 square feet, but Lewis said, "it lives a lot larger than that."
The price tag that year: $90,000.
