INDIANAPOLIS — Brandon Warren is a voice against violence. And for that, he's earned another distinguished honor.

A Warren Central High School graduate and Ball State University student will represent Indiana at the National Jefferson Awards ceremony in Washington D.C.

Warren is a remarkable young man who decided to make a difference after losing friends to gun violence. Last June, RTV6 surprised him with a Jefferson Award for his creation of the "We Live Indy" movement.

Warren has received several other awards since he began his movement. The organization's non-violence message has been taken to Statehouse, City Halls and the streets of Indianapolis.

Warren's efforts impressed the members of the local Jefferson Awards committee, and he was nominated to represent Indiana at the National Jefferson Award Gala in Washington D.C. on June 18.

"It's an honor. It's extremely an honor," Warren told RTV6. "I think about who's gotten me here, including my family, my loved ones, close loved ones are lost along the way to keep doing what I do."
