70 Years Together: Gas prices concerned Hoosiers in 1988

RTV6 is celebrating 70 Years Together! May 30th marks the 70th anniversary of Channel 6, originally WFBM, going on the air in 1949 as the first TV station in the state of Indiana. Some things change, some stay the same. Count complaining about gas prices among the latter.

In the summer of 1988, RTV6 reporter Greg Todd spoke to gas station patrons about the price of gas, which had just reached a high of ... $1.13. Compare that to today. AAA said this week set a record for the year's highest average price of $2.88.
