INDIANAPOLIS -- As college campuses work to address sexual assault, they're turning to something that comes naturally to their students: mobile apps.

CALL 6 | Colleges moving toward 'yes means yes' standard of consent

Call 6 Investigates Kara Kenney is working on a series of reports about sexual assault on college campuses. She reached out to a number of groups to ask their recommendations for apps that can help keep you safe and even report a sexual assault:

LiveSafe – This app uses a peer-to-peer safety tool called SafeWalk to virtually walk family, friends, and colleagues home by monitoring their location on a real-time map.

I’ve Been Violated – The free app allows you to, once you get to a safe place, record video and audio evidence that will be encrypted and stored offline.

Circle of 6 - The app will notify your circle of chosen friends if you need help or just need to talk.

UASK - The app includes a panic button to immediately call emergency personnel, alert friends and share your GPS location with selected contacts. It also can connect you with campus resources if you experience sexual violence.

bSafe  – This app has many of the same features as other apps including allowing you to set off alert to your Guardians with your GPS location and if you’re in danger you can hit the red SOS button which sets off a bright light on your phone and texts your location to selected contacts.
