INDIANAPOLIS -- Carrier workers and supporters protested outside of a Carrier party Friday on East 21st Street.
The company reportedly held an Indy 500 party for dealers, while protestors stood outside chanting and flashing signs expressing their anger at the company's decision to move to Mexico.
"We owe it to the people we represent," said Chuck Jones, president of the United Steelworkers Local 1999. "Fourteen-hundred people, like I said earlier, losing their jobs due to no fault of their own. We are in the fight and we are going to stay in the fight."
Workers were also asking customers Friday to boycott dealers who sell Carrier products.
