INDIANAPOLIS — Restaurants and hair salons in Marion County are just some of the businesses hoping to see COVID-19 restrictions eased.

We'll find out Wednesday whether it will happen soon.

Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett and Marion County Public Health Department Director Dr. Virginia Caine plan a 10:30 a.m. news conference to announce what happens after the current restrictions expire June 1.

The county is now operating under the health department's May 13 order which allows for takeout and outdoor seating for restaurants, as well as 50-percent capacity for nonessential retail and public gatherings of no more than 25 people.

WRTV will stream Wednesday's news conference live.
