BUNKER HILL -- A school employee working as a volunteer at the recent Maconaquah School Corporation's Food Service Day has tested positive for COVID-19.

Maconaquah is located north of Kokomo in Miami County.

On the school system's Facebook page, Superintendent Dr. James Callane said the employee was helping out at last week's Maconaquah Food Service Day, packing lunches, but did not distribute food directly to the public.

Callane said his office was notified Wednesday that the woman tested positive for the virus.

The food distribution program will continue at three locations in Miami County: Bunker Hill United Methodist Church, Amboy Friends Church and Helping Hands on North Broadway in Peru.

Callane said a decision would be made later in April to determine how food will be distributed over the remainder of the school year.
