FOUNTAIN CITY — At least 10 students at a high school east of Indianapolis have been placed in a 14-day quarantine, after a staff member at the school tested positive for COVID-19.

Northeastern High School is located about 85-miles from Indianapolis, north of Richmond in Wayne County. It is part of the Northeastern Wayne School Corporation.

The Wayne County Health Department released the information Thursday. In a statement, the department says it "has been in close contact with the school to identify and notify any staff or student who has been identified as a close contact of the COVID-19 positive person."

The health department is asking any student, teacher, or staff member who has questions regarding this case, to contact the department at 765-973-9368.
