FISHERS -- Two employees of the Hamilton Southeastern school system have tested positive for COVID-19.

The information was released Thursday afternoon by the large school district in Fishers.

An employee of Hamilton Southeaster High School tested positive for the virus on March 24, and on Thursday, school district administrators learned that a second person, who works in a number of buildings, also tested positive. What isn't known is when the two individuals contracted COVID-19.

In a statement Thursday, school officials said the last known date these people had potential contact with anyone in the district was on March 13, the date schools closed because of the virus.

The statement also asked residents of the district who are experiencing symptoms in line with COVID-19 to contact their doctor. Those symptoms include: Fever, cough, body aches, and shortness of breath.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is an excellent resource to find reliable information. The district encourages residents to educate themselves about COVID-19.

As more information is released, it will be posted on the Hamilton Southeastern website: COVID-19 Information webpage.
