LEBNANON — A positive COVID-19 test in Lebanon has forced the closure of three Boone County government buildings.

The Boone County Courthouse, the County Office Building, and the Boone County Prosecutor's Office will be closed until Thursday morning so a deep cleaning and sanitizing can take place.

The decision was made by the Boone County Commissioners after a deputy with the sheriff's office tested positive for the virus during mandatory screening. The deputy was placed on quarantine.

Then, on Monday, it was determined that a person who works in the courthouse had direct contact with the deputy. That employee was also asked to quarantine.

The commissioners hired a sanitization company to clean and disinfect the buildings, all of which are in downtown Lebanon.
