MUNCIE — Several employees in the Criminal Division of the Delaware County Prosecutor's Office in Muncie have tested positive for COVID-19.

As a result, Prosecutor Eric Hoffman has closed the office and 26 employees are working from home.

"Rest assured, the Delaware County Prosecutor's Office is continuing to prosecute crime, holding people accountable for their actions and keeping people safe." said Hoffman.

Hoffman said there is "little to no risk" of exposure from his office to the public. Contact tracers from the Indiana State Health Department will be in touch with those who might have been in contact with an employee.

Much of the communication between the prosecutor and the Delaware County courts is being done by phone. All scheduled appointments involving the office are canceled for now.
