After testing positive for COVID-19 in a rapid antigen test and later testing negative in a PCR test, Gov. Mike DeWine tested negative for the second time after another PCR test was administered Saturday.

DeWine was tested Saturday by the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, giving him his second consecutive negative COVID-19 PCR test. The governor tested negative Thursday evening after receiving a positive rapid antigen test ahead of President Donald Trump’s visit to the state.

Thursday’s PCR tests were run on lab machines twice with results coming back negative both times.

First Lady Fran DeWine also tested negative for COVID-19 Thursday and again Saturday.

The state said the positive COVID-19 test DeWine received Thursday morning was a false positive.
