INDIANAPOLIS — Some recreational sport leagues in Indiana can resume with new restrictions and social distancing guidelines as the state moves into stage 3 of reopening.

Non-contact sports are allowed to resume practices, drills, and conditioning, but aren't allowed to compete against other teams in games, meets, or tournaments, according to an executive order issued Thursday by Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb.

Sports like baseball, softball, volleyball, tennis, golf, soccer, swim, and other similar sports, are considered non-contact sports, according to the order.

Contact sports, including football, basketball, rugby, and wrestling, are only allowed to resume conditioning and non-contact drills, according to the order.

A combined total of 100 players and spectators are allowed to gather, according to the order.

Cass, Lake, and Marion counties won't move to stage 3 of reopening until June 1 at the earliest.
