BROWNSBURG — Officials with the Brownsburg Community School Corporation on Tuesday confirmed a case of COVID-19 at Brownsburg High School.

According to a statement from the school district, school officials are following guidance from the Hendricks County Health Department, who the district said is directing the response to the situation.

The school statement did not say whether the confirmed case of the coronavirus was in a student or staff member.

The district said students and staff who have had close contact to the individual are being contacted separately about the next steps.

Close contact is defined as contact within six feet for 15 minutes or more. Any spaces that the individual has come in contact with have already been sanitized and disinfected, the district said.
