INDIANAPOLIS - More than 20% of the state's COVID-19 deaths have been residents living in long-term care facilities across the state, according to the Indiana State Health Department.
ISDH said as of Tuesday, April 21, 199 long-term care facilities across the state have reported at least one positive case of COVID-19. So far 993 residents living in those facilities and 575 staff members have tested positive.
The latest COVID-19 numbers released for the entire state show over 700 deaths statewide from the virus and over 13,000 confirmed cases.
To date, 162 residents and one staff member have died, according to ISDH.
Although ISDH does not release locations where deaths or cases have occurred, some county health departments have released information.
In Boone County, 19 deaths have been reported between three nursing homes.
according to the Boone County Health Department, Homewood Health Campus has the county's largest number of cases with 44 positive residents and 14 deaths. The Hearth has reported 6 positive residents and 3 deaths and Hoosier Village has reported 11 positive residents and 2 deaths. The exact dates of those deaths have not been released.
