INDIANAPOLIS -- An Indianapolis man is warning other online shoppers to be on the lookout after he caught a thief on video stealing a package off of his front porch dressed as a pizza delivery driver.

Leon Neddo said he never ordered pizza, but to anyone else driving by his home that day it would have looked like he did.

“If I was passing down the street I’d suspect he was trying to deliver pizza,” said Neddo.

Video from Neddo’s motion-activated video doorbell system shoes the man, carrying a pizza delivery bag, and knocking on the door of his home near 38th and Central Avenue on Friday.

The video then shows the man bend down and take a package off of Neddo’s porch, hiding it underneath the giant ‘pizza’ bag.

Neddo said he watched the theft on his cell phone.

“As he kind of approached his car he kind of turned it sideways, the package was hidden between him, his body and the pizza delivery satchel,” said Neddo.

Although he’s upset that someone would steal from him like that, Neddo said the thief is probably a little disappointed with what he got away with: a pair of women’s slippers that were meant for a family friend.

“My wife tried to re-order this pair of slippers and they’re out of stock until January. It was supposed to be a Christmas gift, she has to find something else now,” Neddo said.

Police are looking for the suspect. The vehicle caught on the home surveillance video is a black Ford Explorer.
