INDIANAPOLIS -- The parents of Jessica Whitehouse want to find the murderer who killed their daughter. Jessica was found shot to death inside a home on the city's north side Wednesday evening.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Homicide detectives were called to the home on the 4300 block of Norwaldo Avenue around 7:30 p.m. for a report of an unresponsive woman.
30-year-old Jessica was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her car, a 1994 greenish-blue Crown Victoria, has been taken and found later in the date in the area of Norwaldo Avenue.
"To think that they only thing they guy had to do was just say 'I want your car. I want to borrow your car,' she would have given it to him," said Vigil Vandagriff, Jessica's stepfather.
Vandagriff spent decades as a homicide detective in Marion County and as a private investigator, helping families search for answers.
"I'm a victim this time. It makes me want to go out there and work on it myself," said Vandagriff.
Homicide detectives said Jessica died from at least one gunshot. They were not able to identify any suspects at the scene.
