6 ways to #BeKindIndy this week before Thursday event at library

INDIANAPOLIS -- This week is #BeKindIndy week, where an organization pushing the city's residents to do random acts of kindness for each other. 

It begins with an event at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Central Library. There, the documentary "Kindness is Contagious,"  which is a scientific look at kindness and how it spreads. 

Hosting the event is Horizon House, which provides services and needs to homeless individuals.

RTV6's Todd Connor will moderate a discussion after the documentary.

Now it's your turn. Here are six ideas to help make Indianapolis a more kind place:

  • Buy coffee for the person in line behind you
  • Help a neighbor mow their lawn
  • Wash a family member's car
  • Give up your seat for somebody on the bus
  • Donate your spare change to a charity
  • Offer to return somebody's cart at the grocery store.
