GREENWOOD — A pizza joint in Greenwood that is working to break barriers for the homeless and find them employment is now competing for a $50,000 grant.
RTV6 was the first to tell you about the opening of Agape Pizza back in December. The owners, Tom and Angie Wilhelmi, not only donate a portion of their proceeds to the ministry Tear Down the Walls, which works with the homeless in the community - but they have also been working to hire people transitioning from homelessness by providing rides to work.

The couple say their business is now in the running for a huge grant that could really help them pay for some much needed upgrades. Agape Pizza is competing for the FedEX Small Business Grant Contest. The winning business will get $50,000 for their business. With that money, the owners say they could afford to replace broken or old equipment. They also want to purchase lighted signage for outside the store, and uniforms for employees.
