Indiana State Police seeks recruits for 80th recruit academy

INDIANAPOLIS — Considering a career in law enforcement? The Indiana State Police is accepting applications for the 80th Recruit Academy.

Individuals who are interested in becoming a state trooper must apply online. The website provide a description of the application process as well as information on additional career opportunities with the Indiana State Police.

Applications must be submitted electronically by 11:59 p.m. EST Nov. 3, 2019. Applications submitted after the deadline will not be accepted for the 80th Recruit Academy.

The state police said applicants must be a U.S. citizen, be at least 21 but less than 40 as of Oct. 1, 2020, meet a minimum vision standard, possess a valid driver's license, be willing to reside and serve anywhere in the state of Indiana and be a high school graduate as evidenced by a diploma or general equivalency diploma.

At the completion of academy training, the starting salary is $48,000 a year.
