INDIANAPOLIS — An Indianapolis manufacturing facility that employs over 200 Hoosiers will be moving operations to their Illinois plant over the next two years.

Diamond Chain, which manufactures drive chain products, was acquired by The Timken Company in 2019.

The company says they plan to establish their facility in Fulton, Illinois as the global chain business headquarters.

"We've been carefully evaluating how to best integrate the business," the company said in a statement released to RTV6 on Tuesday. "Our lease is expiring in Indianapolis; relocating to Fulton, where we own the facility, allows us to leverage our existing manufacturing footprint to best serve our customers."

The company employs approximately 240 associates at their Indianapolis facility.

The company plans to offer third-party employee assistance counselors on site to help answer questions from employees.

"We will provide support to help employees affected by this change, including possible opportunities for qualified candidates to fill open positions at our Fulton facility, benefits continuation and severance pay," the statement said.

The move is expected to take between 24 and 36 months.
