Project Indy kicks off for the fifth year to encourage and help youth apply for summer jobs

INDIANAPOLIS — Project Indy, a summer jobs program for youth kicked off its fifth year on Thursday.

Project Indy was launched by EmployIndy and Mayor Joe Hogsett in May 2016 and has quickly expanded after receiving grants from the US Department of Labor and their Career Pathways for Youth: Summer Jobs and Beyond program.

The program helps participants ages 16-24 search and apply for open jobs based on their location.

The program does not cost taxpayers and is funded through federal grants, community organizations and donatios.

Over the past four years, Project Indy has connected young adults with thousands of jobs at nearly 200 employer sites.
