INDIANAPOLIS -- A Franklin Township mother is demanding answers after her daughter was sent to internal suspension because her pants were too tight.
Traci Hull said her 12-year-old daughter, Morgan, has missed two days worth of school because of the incident.
Hull said she only found out when the school sent an email. Hull said the email points out that Morgan should have been given a warning instead of an internal suspension, which is a greater offense.
She took Morgan to school the next day, and Hull said the assistant principal said her pants were again too tight.
"She is not getting the proper education. She is behind in school and we are spending now two days focused on pants that are too tight. It is unfathomable to me that there is this big of an issue on her dress code and not her education," Hull said.
Hull said someone at the superintendent's office looked at Morgan's outfit and said it appeared to be appropriate. That person said they will investigate the incident.
RTV6 reached out to Franklin Township Superintendent Dr. Flora Reichanadter. She said she does not have enough information to comment.
