INDIANAPOLIS — Ambrose Property Group announced Tuesday it plans to redevelop the former Navistar International Corporation property on the east side into a new logistics park.

The Brookville Road property will be known as the Indianapolis Central Logistics Park. Construction is scheduled to begin in late 2020.

Navistar ended operations at the plant in 2015, and it was demolished in 2018.

Ambrose executive vice president of development Grant Goldman said Ambrose plans to redevelop the site as a hub for manufacturing and logistics businesses.

“Indianapolis Central Logistics Park will bring new, state-of-the-art, Class A buildings to the site,” said Goldman. “More than that, it will bring new jobs and economic opportunities to the residents of the east side. It is our goal to be great partners to the surrounding neighborhoods of Irvington, Christian Park and Glenroy Village, and we look forward to revitalizing this site both with and for them.”

Ambrose recently broke ground for Building II at its Mount Comfort Logistics Center in Hancock County, along with the Wellpoint Business Park in Monrovia.
