ANDERSON — Police in Anderson are investigating after a student-to-student threat was made via social media at Anderson Preparatory Academy.

According to a report from Anderson police, the APA superintendent contacted police late Sunday to report the threat. Jill Barker, APA superintedent, requested a heightened presence of uniformed police officers at the school's two locations, where students enter for morning classes and while classes are assembled.

Police were also asked to investigate the alleged threats. Officers have made contact with the student and the student's guardian concerning the social media post. Police are also assisting the school with providing a safe environment, police said.
