INDIANAPOLIS — In March of 2015, four people were found shot-to-death inside a house on North Harding Street in Indianapolis.

Now, an April 13, 2020 trial has been scheduled for Nicholas Dunn, the Indianapolis man charged in the crime.

The trial was set during a hearing before Marion County Criminal Court Judge Lisa Borges.

Dunn was charged early this year after detectives got the break they were hoping for when new information was brought forward connecting Dunn to the crime.

Terry Bettis, Sherri Taylor, Tiara Taylor and Davon Whitlock were shot-to-death in the front room of a house in the 3100 block of North Harding Street on the city's west side. A family member discovered the bodies and called police.

"It is understandably difficult for families to have passage of any time, let alone years, without knowing how a loved one was lost to violence. It is correspondingly frustrating to law enforcement when we are unable to hold someone accountable for their actions," said then Marion County Prosecutor Terry Curry at the time of the arrest.

IMPD Chief Bryan Roach said detectives have been following leads and talking to neighbors to track down information that would lead to an arrest.

"Our detectives work tirelessly to bring peace and closure to families impacted by violence. These cases are always on their minds, no matter how long an investigation may take," said Roach in January.

Information from police and the prosecutor indicates Dunn went inside the home in the early-morning hours and held the three female victims at gunpoint. He then had the women lure Whitlock, who was parked outside, into the home.

Dunn allegedly shot all four with an AR-15 style rifle and fled the scene in Whitlock's car.

He faces four Murder charges in addition to Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Serious Violent Felon. Dunn was already in prison for an unrelated matter at the time he was charged in the Harding Street murders.
