COLUMBUS — Firefighters rescued a deer stuck on West Lake Saturday morning in Columbus and was rescued by local first responders.
Firefighters and conservation officers were notified about a deer laying down on the ice around 10:30 a.m.
With the help of a drone, a non-motorized boat, and a lasso, two firefighters were able to rescue the deer.
Indiana Conservation Officer Robert Klakamp said the deer appeared to be exhausted, but healthy, in a press release.
If an animal is stuck on the ice, the Columbus Fire Department says you should not attempt to rescue the animal and call 911.
