Reserve Bartholomew Co. deputy terminated after child molestation arrest at campground he worked at

BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY, Ind. -- A reserve deputy with the Bartholomew County Sheriff's Department was terminated over the weekend after he was accused of child molestation at the campground where he worked as a security volunteer. 

Indiana State Police arrested Larry Lee Scott, 72, Sunday at the Ceraland Campgrounds. 

State police responded to the campgrounds for a child molestation complaint against Scott, who was an employee at the campgrounds. 

The details about the investigation and complaint have not been released, but Scott was arrested and is facing numerous child molestation charges including:

  • Child Molestation
  • Child Exploitation
  • Vicarious Sexual Gratification
  • Child Solicitation
  • Sexual Battery
  • Possession of Paraphernalia

Scott was terminated from the Bartholomew County Sheriff's Office over the weekend; it is unclear if his termination was related to his arrest.  

The incident remains under investigation by Indiana State Police.
