BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY, Ind. -- More than a dozen road signs were vandalized in Bartholomew County early Friday morning .

Deputies were called to the 8000 block of 550W around 12:30 a.m.

They found 14 signs that were painted with swastikas, graffiti, profanity and nudity.

The vandalized signs were located between the areas of 525W, 550W, Carr Hill Road, and Youth Camp Road.

Reports say that a dark colored truck dropped off someone in the area, and later a white truck picked up that same person and drove away.

Bartholomew County Sheriff Matthew Myers says the vandalism could lead to accidents because drivers can't read the signs. He says it also costs taxpayers because the signs have to be replaced.

Anyone who has information about the vandalism is asked to call the Bartholomew County Sherifff's Office at (812) 379-1650, the tip line at (812) 379-1712, or email sheriff@bartholomew.in.gov. You do not have to leave your name.
