PARKE COUNTY — A 3-year-old boy died Sunday after he went missing near the beach at Raccoon Lake and was found in the water, according to conservation officers.
Indiana Conservation Officers were notified around 3:50 p.m. after the boy's family said he left them and was missing, according to a press release.
Just before 5 p.m., a visitor found the boy in 6 to 7 feet of water near the beach area, according to the release. He was taken to Hendricks Regional Hospital and later died.
The identity of the boy has not been released.
The incident is still under investigation.
