Two more men charged with murder in the death of Deputy Jacob Pickett

BOONE COUNTY, Ind. -- The Boone County Prosecutor has filed murder charges against two men in the death of Deputy Jacob Pickett earlier this year. 

John Austin Ball and John D. Baldwin Jr. were charged Wednesday for their roles in Pickett's death. The two also face multiple drug-related charges.

Pickett was fatally shot while assisting with a pursuit on March 2. 

Anthony Baumgardt, 21, is already facing the death penalty for his role in Pickett's death and requested a change of venue last month.

“Today, we are one step closer to seeing total justice for Jake," Sheriff Mike Nielsen said. "Many dedicated hours have been spent on this investigation by several agencies.  I want to thank them and the prosecutor's office for their hard work.  I personally read the murder warrant to John Ball tonight and will read the murder warrant tomorrow to John Baldwin, Jr. The investigation will continue until justice is served for Jake. “
