Indianapolis man killed in crash involving box truck near Zionsville

ZIONSVILLE, Ind. — An Indianapolis man is dead after a head-on crash Sunday afternoon near Zionsville.

Boone County Sheriff’s deputies and emergency responders were called just before 1:45 p.m. to the 7600 block of Oak Street on the report of a head-on collision involving a commercial vehicle and passenger vehicle.

The driver of the Toyota, Michael Patrick, 46, of Indianapolis, died at the scene, according to a press release from the Boone County Sheriff’s Office.

Luke Thomas, 32, of Indianapolis, was driving a Home City Ice box truck was uninjured in the crash.

Investigators said in a press release the box truck was on its side and the Toyota was in the ditch.

At this time, the cause of the crash has not been released.

It is unknown if drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
