INDIANAPOLIS — You can't drive Will Power's race car around town, but the 2019 pace car would be a nice consolation prize.

A 2019 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport was unveiled Monday as the pace car for the 103rd running of the Indianapolis 500 on Sunday, May 26. It marks the 16th time a Corvette served as the pace car and the 30th time a Chevrolet model led the race.

"We continue to be grateful for our long-running partnership with Chevrolet," Indianapolis Motor Speedway president Doug Boles said in a release. "It's such a strong bond that has proven integral to the success of our events."

According to a release from the Speedway, the Corvette Grand Sport can accelerate from 0-to-60 in 3.6 seconds.

Thirty-three 2019 Corvette Stingrays will be seen on Central Indiana roads throughout May and in the IPL 500 Festival Parade on Saturday, May 25.
