INDIANAPOLIS — A newly married Crawfordsville couple should be back in Indiana Wednesday following an accident while exploring a volcano on their honeymoon.

Clay Chastain and his wife Acaimie were hiking last Thursday in St. Kitts when they found a rope leading down into a dormant volcano.

Clay started the climb down when the rope snapped and he fell about 70 feet down a steep incline. He has been in the hospital in St. Kitts for days recovering from a skull fracture and concussion.

Due to Clay's injuries, he can't take a commercial flight home and needs an air ambulance. However, their insurance will not cover the emergency air transport that costs at least $29,000.

They have raised almost $36,000 on GoFundMe and finally have enough to come home.
