INDIANAPOLIS — The 16-year-old charged with killing two teen siblings last year in their home last year has accepted a plea agreement.

Lometreus Sanders is being charged as an adult in the murders of Ashlynn and Nicholas Nelson. The siblings were shot and killed on Aug 23, 2019 in their apartment at Postbook Apartments near East 42nd Street and North Post Road.

In probable cause documents filed with the Marion County Prosecutor's Office on Monday, Lometreus admits to the murders and details how he believes it happened.

Lometreus is charged with two counts of murder, dangerous possession of a firearm by a child and carrying a handgun without a license. He's currently being held without bond.

In his initial hearing on Feb. 25, the teen accepted a plea agreement in the case. The details of that agreement have not yet been released.

The plea deal will not be official until a judge accepts the terms.

A "change of plea" hearing has been scheduled for March 11. If the plea deal is not accepted by the judge, a jury trial is scheduled to begin sometime in late April.
