3 dead Monday night as Indianapolis violence continues

INDIANAPOLIS -- The violence from over the weekend continued into the week, as three people died from shootings Monday evening.

The first incident happened just before 8:30 p.m., in the 6300 block of Moroso Court. 

Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were dispatched to the area on a report of a murder-suicide. Inside the house, police found an adult man and woman who had been shot. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

They have been identified as John Miller and Linda Miller.

Police are calling the deaths a murder-suicide. The Marion County Coroner said John's death has been classified as a suicide, and Linda's has been classified as a homicide.

About an hour later, IMPD was called to the 3100 block of E. 10th Street on a report of a person shot. Officers found a woman who had been shot. She has been identified as Karen Groves, 58. 

If both incidents are murders, they would mark the 119th and 120th intentional homicides of 2018. In 2017, Indianapolis set a record with 156 homicides.
