INDIANAPOLIS — Police are investigating after several antisemitic flyers were posted on buildings in the Jewish community early Friday morning.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department says they have taken a report about the flyers and have reported the incident to the ARIES State Repository as a bias crime. They also have an open investigation through the IMPD North District, but they have no details to release at this time.
Details about what the flyers contained were also not released.
In a press release sent out by the Jewish Community Relations Council of Indianapolis, the organization says IMPD has agreed to provide additional campus patrols and all campus facilities will be operating as normal.
"The Indianapolis Jewish Community Relations Council, which is tasked with advocating on behalf of the Greater Indianapolis Jewish Community, has noted an increase in antisemitism in the greater Indianapolis area," the press release said. "They continue to liaise with authorities on reports they receive of hateful symbols and speech meant to intimidate or spread fear."
