COLUMBUS — Columbus police are investigating after a man allegedly shot and killed a home intruder early Saturday morning.
According to information from the Columbus Police Department, officers were dispatched just before 1 a.m. to a house in the 2000 block of Home Avenue on a report of a shooting. When police arrived, they found a man inside the house with multiple gunshot wounds.
The homeowner told officers an unknown man with a baseball bat confronted him before he allegedly shot the man with a gun.
The man was transported to Columbus Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
