INDIANAPOLIS -- Two women found dead inside a burned vehicle early Saturday morning were killed by gunshot wounds to the head, according to the Marion County Coroner’s Office.
The women – identified Tuesday as Martina Webb, 24, and Aliyah Igartua, 21, both of Gary – were discovered inside a burning vehicle shortly after midnight Saturday in the 1600 block of North Goodlet Avenue.
Firefighters discovered their bodies after extinguishing the fire, which had fully engulfed the vehicle.
Police have not said what, if any, motive or suspect information they may have in the case.
The women’s deaths were part of a rash of violence across Indianapolis over a three-day period that left a total of six people dead.
All but one of those deaths – the accidental shooting of 15-year-old Eugene Dobbins – are being treated as criminal homicides.
