DANVILLE — A 19-year-old Danville man is facing a murder charge stemming from a fatal crash that killed a Coatesville man in September.

According to a report from the Hendricks County Sheriff's Office, Cody L. Albert, 19, was arrested Friday after the county prosecutor's office filed charges of murder and operating while intoxicated resulting in death against Albert in Hendricks Circuit Court.

The charges stem from the Sept. 24 crash in the 400 block of West U.S. 40 near County Road 0 that killed Thomas Plasters, 51, of Coatesville.

Deputies said at the time that a blue SUV was driving west in the eastbound lanes of U.S. 40 at a high rate of speed just prior to a collision between two vehicles in the eastbound lanes. Albert was taken to an Indianapolis hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Plasters was pronounced dead at the scene.

At the time, deputies said Albert may have been intentionally driving the wrong way in the eastbound lanes just prior to the crash with Plasters' vehicle.

Albert is being held without bond at the Hendricks County Jail.
