IMPD: Homicide investigation underway after man was shot and killed on city's north side

INDIANAPOLIS — A man is dead after a shooting Friday morning on the north side of Indianapolis, police say.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers and emergency personnel were called around 6:30 a.m. to the 3600 block of Hemlock Avenue, near East Fall Creek Parkway North Drive and 38th Street, on the report of a person shot, IMPD Office Grace Sibley said in a press release. When they arrived, they located a man suffering from at least one apparent gunshot wound.

Officers located the man at a nearby GetGo gas station, according to an IMPD police report.

The man later died, Sibley said. Their identity has not been released.

Detectives are investigating the death as a homicide, Sibley said.

The identities of any possible suspects have not been released.
