KOKOMO, Ind. -- A 19-year-old Indianapolis man now faces a charge of rape over an alleged sexual assault outside a Kokomo movie theater in October.

Blayse Wood, 19, was charged earlier this month with rape and criminal confinement in Howard County Superior Court.

According to a probable cause affidavit filed in the case, Wood and a 17-year-old girl were in the back seat of his Chevy Impala making out when he began taking off her pants. Despite repeatedly telling him to stop, the girl said Wood continued undressing her and then proceeded to rape her.

During the assault, the girl said Wood told her, “I put up with you for six months, I deserve this.”

After returning home, the girl immediately contacted police, who initiated a sexual assault investigation. Police reported finding texts between Wood and the girl in which he appeared to admit to the assault.

Howard County prosecutors filed charges of rape and criminal confinement against Wood on Jan. 8.

Wood was taken into custody on Friday. As of Tuesday afternoon, Wood was being held at the Howard County Jail on a $25,000 cash bond.
