INDIANAPOLIS — Protests turned violent again Saturday night in Indianapolis with property being vandalized and fires set downtown.
Protesters are started gathering again Saturday afternoon.

IndyGo announced bus schedules will resume as normal Sunday, but some delays and detours are possible downtown.

Three people died and two others were injured overnight as Indianapolis police responded to multiple shootings.
6:55 a.m.
Firefighters were called to a fire at around 12:45 a.m. at the CVS Pharmacy at 175 N. Illinois St. It was the second night in a row the store had been damaged by fire. Nobody was injured in the fire that took nearly an hour to extinguish.

Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett released a statement on Twitter.
This afternoon, our city hosted a successful protest that allowed hundreds to lift up their cause and have their voices safely heard.
Since it ended, a small group of people have chosen to diminish that activism through inexcusable violence. It is unacceptable, and it must stop.

A person was shot and killed near North Talbot and East Market streets, IMPD Officer Michael Hewitt said in an email.

Police now say no one was shot in the 200 block of East Market Street.

At least one person has been shot near Alabama and New York streets, IMPD Officer Michael Hewitt said in an email. The condition of the victim is not known at this time.

We support our residents’ right to lawful and peaceful protests.
Unfortunately, IMPD officers had to disperse a crowd at Market and Alabama Streets after projectiles were repeatedly thrown at officers and windows were broken at government buildings.

Police are now saying the protest is no longer peaceful and are asking people to leave. Some officers have gas masks on.

A protester told us they are protesting against police brutality and wanted to come and make their voice heard. They said they plan on staying peaceful.

Destiny Brown says protesters want to address the death Dreajson Reed and are calling for the release of the name of the officers involved in his death.
Reed was shot and killed by and Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officer earlier this month. The incident was streamed live on Facebook.

Protesters are also standing in solidarity with other protests happening across the nation.
Brown said the group plans to be at the City-County Building around 5:30 p.m. to know they want to hold city leaders accountable.
Brown said the group wants to remain non-violent and make sure their voices are heard and people feel safe.
Water, medical supplies and masks are being provided to protesters who may need them.
Brown is encouraging people who come to join them remain non-violent and focus on their message.
