INDIANAPOLIS — Detectives arrested an Indianapolis man for his alleged involvement in robbing several businesses on the north and northwest side of the city.

Just after midnight on Thursday, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department's Covert Robbery Unity arrested a 51-year-old man who is believed to have been involved in a total of nine recent robberies.

The man was arrested in connection with the robberies of three Speedway Gas Stations, one Circle K Gas station, a Village Pantry, and the Ofelia Bakery. According to IMPD, all of the burglaries happened in the span of two months, and a few of the establishments were robbed more than once.

"IMPD officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at I465 and the Pendleton Pike off-ramp," the release read. "Information was gathered during the traffic stop which led to a search warrant for the vehicle and evidence was found inside the car that linked [Suspect] to a recent robbery."

The Marion County Prosecutors' office will review the case and make the final decision on formal charges.
