INDIANAPOLIS — One person is dead after a fight ended with a man getting his throat slashed with glass.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were called to the home in the 900 block of North Boasart Avenue around 3:30 a.m. for a reported fight.
Police say the alcohol fueled fight spilled out onto the street and one of the men involved grabbed a piece of glass from a broken bottle and slashed another man across the neck.
The victim, identified as Phillip Toombs, 53, was taken to the hospital where he died of multiple sharp force traumatic injuries.
The other man was taken into custody for questioning but was later released. The death has been ruled a homicide but no charges have been filed at this time.
