Man dies following shooting in Lawrence late Saturday

Lawrence police looking for ATM robbery suspect

LAWRENCE — A man was shot and killed late Saturday in Lawrence, police said.

According to a report from Lawrence police, officers were called to the 8200 block of Harrison Drive around 11:15 p.m. Saturday on report of shots fired. When officers arrived, they found an adult man in the front yard of a residence with at least one gunshot wound to the abdomen.

Police said the man was taken to Eskenazi Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The victim has been identified as Michael Rodenberger, 44.

According to police, neighbors reported hearing shots fired and then an unknown description vehicle leaving the area. There is no suspect information at this time.

Detectives from Lawrence police and technicians from the Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency are processing the scene and investigating the circumstances of the shooting.
