SEYMOUR — Police in Seymour say they have identified a man they believe may be able to help them with information regarding the newborn that was found abandoned on Tuesday.

The Seymour Police Department posted two photos of a man wearing a blue shirt and dark pants on Wednesday and asked for the public's help to identify him.

In less than two hours, the man had been identified and detectives say they are meeting up to speak with him sometime Wednesday.

Police say a newborn was found abandoned in a plastic bag along a tree line earlier this week by a person who was walking their dog in the area.

The infant was taken to the hospital and is healthy and eating well as of Wednesday morning, according to detectives.

Police believe the man they are going to speak with may be able to provide them with more information about the infant, but they say he is not a suspect.

If anyone has any information about the abandoned infant contact the Seymour Police Department at 812-522-1234.
